Another British/American Difference?

I just noticed, after being here for two and a half months, that my shower heat control goes from 0 to 8.5. What? Why not 10? Why not even a whole number? Clearly this doesn’t affect anything, I just was surprised.

In other news, something else I was surprised at, even though I knew it was coming: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7940396.stm. Put me in place of the fish, and this is why I’m petrified of the ocean. This is what goes on 90% of the time in my mind when I’m far-ish out at sea. That being said, I am determined to conquer this fear by learning to SCUBA dive this summer. I hope I can stick to that.
